While getting the rest of the Dulcitius in order, here is something else to look at! Some time ago I wrote a guest post for the indomitable Nadine Muller for her new series on ‘my first time in academia’. It is the story of a young researcher’s first conference adventure, wherein she spent several hours on a bus through north Wales trying not to be carsick, was nearly mugged by a seagull (again) and survived the most painful conference dinner ever–but those actually aren’t the parts of the story that I talk about here. It’s actually just about presenting the paper itself, and how shockingly bad I was. It may be helpful to some, at least I hope so!
So here is: My first time: My first conference paper ever. Enjoy.
